The musician, born Sammy Murimi Nderi, died last week after a long illness. Fans had pooled together to foot his hospital bill after an appeal through a local vernacular station. On Sunday afternoon, there was a music extravaganza in memory of Murimi Wa Kahalf held at Homeland bar, located along the Thika superhighway. This was after he noted that there was another one-man guitarist who also used the Man Murimi stage name. With the new stage name, he went on to release big hits like Sophia, Kamunguna, Twana Twakwa My kids , among other hit songs. He shot to national fame in when he released the song Ino Ni Momo which chides chubby women. According to Magua Kioi, one of the musicians who worked together with the late Wa Kahalf, the musician had left a big gap in the music scene.
